School of Health Science



School of health science is CTEVT constituent school, established at Bharatpur-10 Chitwan, Nepal in 1997. It is approximately 180 KM southwest from Kathmandu (capital of Nepal) by road and is well connected with air transport. It is managed by School Management Board chaired by Chief District Officer of Chitwan.

Under the CTEVT umbrella, this is the first school in Nepal to produce certificate level manpower for health sector. Currently the school is offering certificate level course in three distinct health science viz. General Medicine, Medical Laboratory, Pharmacy and Ophthalmic Science. The seats in Health Assistant, Lab technician and Pharmacy is 62, 30 and 40 respectively.

This course is based on the tasks required to be performed by a physiotherapy assistant in variety of clinical and community settings. Therefore, this curriculum is designed to provide knowledge and skills focusing on physiotherapy. Program extends over three years. The first year course includes basic science; the second year course focuses on basic disciplinary subjects of physiotherapy. Similarly, the third year comprises of the disciplinary subjects and application of learned skills and knowledge in clinical and community setting. Diploma in Pharmacy

Pharmacy or Pharmacology is one of the main disciplines under Biomedical Science and the pharmaceutical industry. It is the profession responsible for the preparation,dispensing and appropriate use of medication and which provides services to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes. Pharmacy is a scientific profession requiring a high level of education and training.

Diploma in Medical Lab Technician

Medical Laboratory Technology is generally concerned with diagnosis, treatment and prevention with use of pathological tests. As vital members of health care team, Lab Technicians play a key role in collecting information to provide best care to the patients.

Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology (CMLT) program creates and fosters skilled health professionals in clinical laboratory science for diagnosis of diseases that decide the life of individuals who may be the only breadwinner of the family or the only child of his/her parents. Students who enroll for this program will be provided theoretical as well as practical knowledge of different clinical laboratory techniques.

Certificate in General Medicine (or Health Assistant) program is 3 years program affiliated to CTEVT which aim to provide mid level health professionals who can assist the rural community in health care. According to CTEVT, 47 colleges are offering Proficiency Certificate in General Medicine (Health Assistant ; HA) program in Nepal with a total enrollment capacity of 1892.
