KU had a very modest start from a rented building at Tangal, Kathmandu. Now, it has been able to create a built up space of 46,846 square meters.

Geomatics (Surveying) Engineering Technology provides training in the collection, analysis, storage, distribution and application of spatial or three-dimensional data used in land development. It is is a modern discipline, which integrates acquisition, modeling, analysis, and management of spatially referenced data, i.e. data identified according to their locations. Based on the scientific framework of geodesy, it uses terrestrial, marine, airborne, and satellite-based sensors to acquire spatial and other data.

Geomatic engineering is fast growing discipline (that focuses on spatial information, i.e. information that has a location). The speed of development in the field is same as of Information Technology. Geomatics Engineers apply engineering principles to spatial information and implement relational data structures involving measurement sciences, thus using Geomatics as Spatial Engineers. Chemical engineering is a multi-disciplinary branch of engineering that combines natural and experimental sciences (such as chemistry and physics), along with life sciences (such as biology, microbiology and biochemistry) plus mathematics and economics to design, develop, produce, transform, transport, operate and manage the industrial processes that turn raw materials into valuable products.

Many of the processes within chemical engineering involve chemical reactions, and the field takes cues from chemists who are looking for new ways to create products and to investigate the mechanisms within chemical reactions. Chemical engineers then translate this chemical information to formulate designs. As such, there are two broad subgroups that better answer the question. Chemical engineers play an important role in today's world. They are responsible for a broad range of activities that have direct impact on the daily operation of industries, and the overall design of processes, equipment and plants. Chemical engineers are dedicated to process engineering and product engineering. They operate and optimize the processes in all the manufacturing industries, and they also conceive and design new products that meet the high standards for sustainable and green solutions.Chemical engineers may be specialized in one or the other subgroup, but work from both side will be required in order to create a final product.
